Icelandair has selected Ultramain Systems’ ULTRAMAIN ELB electronic logbook to replace paper technical logs across its entire fleet.
The system will provide flight crews, maintenance personnel and operational teams with real-time access to aircraft status and technical information, supporting faster defect reporting and resolution.
Icelandair said the move is expected to improve data accuracy, streamline compliance processes and enhance aircraft availability by removing delays associated with paper-based processes.
Leifur Gudmundsson, senior vice president technical operations at Icelandair, said: “The transition to an electronic logbook will provide our flight and maintenance teams with a more efficient way to share and access operational information. ULTRAMAIN ELB enables the electronic capture and transmission of aircraft technical records between flight and maintenance teams, reducing administrative workload while providing immediate access to maintenance data.
The deployment forms part of Icelandair’s wider efforts to modernise its operations through digital technologies and improve efficiency and reliability.
